Reflection of the Theory and Methodology in the teaching of English in secondary School
The work I choose from my Theory and Method of Teaching English at a secondary level with Dr. Arlinda Lopez was a lesson plan. This Lesson plan was based on unit 10.1: Conflict, where I used as a guide one of the many concepts maps the professor provided and it is based on "The story of an hour" by Kate Chopin. This Lesson plan is focused on the four types of conflict and the students were provided a PowerPoint presentation and various worksheets and assignments to make sure that they understood the material. There was also individualized help offered and differentiated instructions.
The reason why I chose this lesson plan as the work that most impacted me in the class was because it was the one I most understood, the one that I most enjoyed. I absolutely loved how the professor taught us how to do a lesson plan, she gave us all the information we needed and additional handouts to be able to guide us through the process of making a lesson plan.
I absolutely loved this class because even though it was not easy and there was a lot of work I can say that I actually learned everything the professor taught us. If it wasn't for the assignments I am sure I wouldn't have learned this much. The professor was extremely understanding, never stressed us out or gave us unnecessary work, she was also patient, and eager to help us with anything we needed. I can gladly say that this was my favorite class of this semester!
