Reflection for Literature I

​

     This research paper which consists of 6 pages, has information about Joyce Carol Oates and three of her short stories the ones that I picked were “Where are you going, where have you been?”, “The temple” and “The lady with the pet dog” and this research paper also included comparisons of these three short stories and an article about the author. The second assignment that was given was a PowerPoint presentation which was a summary of my research paper so that I could explain it to the class. These assignments helped me a lot but the one that really impacted the way I wrote and explained things was the research paper, I had to take my time and research the right amount of information and use the information that was necessary for my work, what was challenging for me was to organize the structure of my research paper because I wanted to put too much information which in reality was not needed and that is what took most of my time, the writing part and the explaining part was not so difficult and I really enjoyed it. Now, the PowerPoint was very challenging because I had to turn a 6-page research paper into a short PowerPoint explaining everything I had talked about in my research paper the time limit was five minutes and sadly I passed the time limit, but I am delighted that I got to explain and give examples of my research paper. This was my first research paper, and I am very proud of the work I did, it was challenging but the professor made it easier with all the information she and ideas she gave us to do this research paper. Now that I did this type of assignment for the first time, I really liked it, it made me read and analyze everything in more detail.
